Despite my own bizarre spin on Anglophilia keeping some of the usual suspects off the U.K. lists, I was kinda surprised that it took this long to find a list with Kinks and Stones represented. Especially when you think about how quintessentially British Waterloo Sunset is, compared to any other song on anyone else's U.K. lists.
That being said, The Au Pairs just rule. _________________ Your work looks good. Your look works well. |

What with Small Faces, Kinks, Stones and Blind Faith... talk about kicking it old school Modropheeenia. We just need The Who (strangely absent from all lists). How bout Gang of Four, David Bowie? Elvis Costello. I saw somebody had the Clash. Hooray! Maybe the British Invasion was less of an offensive and more of a scud.
Having said all that, thank god the Beatles were not holding a prominent position. Sidebar- what is the deal with P.McCartney and Wings?! _________________ The high heel he used to be has been ground down... |

More importantly, another storied British tradition is not represented... the we-love-you, we-love-you, we-always-hated-you months of hype/instant burn outs. Is there no love for the bands the NME mocked you for not being hip enough to go to their first gig?
Where is Sigue Sigue Sputnik? Shampoo? Chumbawumba? Dizzee Rascal? Bloc Party?
C'mon!
Oh wait, we always hated them.
