Mortal fools... The Pod Mind has been roused from its slumber by pop music loving rabble. Tread lightly, foolish ones, or the Doobie Brothers may return to curse this forum sooner than you know.
But for now, here are the outcomes of your so-called Covermania.
The most played covers:
Sook-Yin Lee's Knock Loud as performed by Neko Case
The Postal Service's Such Great Heights as performed by Iron & Wine
The Miracles' If You Can Want as performed by the Dirtbombs
The most prolific coverers (based on appearances on individual lists):
Kathryn Williams (13)
The Dirtbombs (10)
The Detroit Cobras (5)
Songs covered more than once:
Gin & Juice
Thirteen
Hallelujah
Spit On A Stranger
Bands with more than one song covered:
Willie Nelson (4)
The Velvet Underground (3)
The Beatles (2.5)
Echo & The Bunnymen (2)
The Kinks (2)
David Bowie (2)
Sebadoh (2)
Neil Young (2)
The Strokes (2)
Some may say that those who possess this knowledge are damned, but in actuality, the Damned have not qualified for this list. However, their cover of Help by the Beatles is highly recommended. Doltish mortals!

It seems to me that an important artist has been overlooked--and, given his high placement in the PodMind Covers tally, we need to remedy this asap.
I am talking, of course, about Shane Farmer. As a member of the Seattle pop band The Malinks, Shane plays bass on the 3 M's songs on D-Rock's list. Shane's work as a member of the Action Items earned him 4 appearances on Leslie's list.
A grand total of 7 entries!!
Sorry, Detroit Cobras, but that Bronze medal doesn't belong to you. _________________ Of course you have a life. I don't need to tell you that. |

That's pretty damn impressive that one of Poddish's own Silent Ones clocks in with a contribution that big.
Just think, if the Malinks had ever bowed to popular pressure and recorded Poison, Shane would have made even more lists.
